Seeds for Building Children’s Self Esteem
We do know that our Children are our future. It seems that our future will have many many challenges calling for great wisdom and courage, so those who inherit our planet need solid foundations for developing the inner strengths and positive “can do” personalities for coping with unforeseen upheavals and change. These Seeds are to plant today for tomorrow’s harvesting of strengths and confidence as will be needed in great amounts.
On this page there are three groups, they are;
Group # 1 ; Are some posters and a wise mystic giving his perspective of our children.
Group # 2 ; Are a set of early childhood posters to colour and start meaningful discussions.
Group # 3 ; Are a set of worksheets for more mature children for building a positive self Image.
As a starter, here are the words of wisdom from Khalil Gibran, who was widely known as a mystic over 100 years back. This man shared many higher truths and great insights with the people in Lebanon – he was able to do this because of being more fully attuned with and open to his higher nature’s wisdom – as we promote with most of our Good Seeds for all as a life enhancing endevour to aspire towards.
On Children
And a woman who held a babe against her bosom said, “Speak to us of Children.”
And he said:
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;
For even as he loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.
